AJ Vaona Gevrey-Chambertin 2022

AJ Vaona Gevrey‑Chambertin 2022 is a welcoming introduction to village-level Burgundy from the AJ Vaona domaine, founded by Justine Mongeard and Alexandre Carminati. Crafted from biodynamically/generally organically farmed Pinot Noir, this wine undergoes cold maceration and slow, cool fermentation, followed by 12–16 months in oak barrels (approx. 50% new). Minimal intervention preserves fruit purity and terroir expression.

It pours a radiant medium-ruby hue. The nose reveals red and dark berries—blackcurrant, cherry—blended with violet florals, forest-floor earth, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it’s silky, fresh, and medium-bodied with integrated tannins and mineral clarity. The finish is elegant, mineral-laced, and enduring.

Ready to drink now or cellar through 2028. Serve around 14–16 °C. Pairs beautifully with roasted duck, lamb, mushroom risotto, salami, or charcuterie
